Dhanalakshmi Weaving Works also popularly known by its brand name "Dhantex" is a complete composite and vertical type of manufacturing facility with fully owned and controlled factories and process houses in and around Cannanore and Coimbatore and is also supported by weaving units in different parts of South India.

Dhanalakshmi Weaving Works was established in 1929 and has been accorded the status of Recognised Trading House by the Government of India and is currently handling different commodities besides Textile products. Dhanalakshmi is an ISO 9002 certified group. The group employs over 1000 people in its processing & weaving departments. The sewing made-up goods division employs over 400 people at their new and modern plant.

Old Factory

"Dhanalakshmi" with its fully owned mechanised dyeing factories, in house testing facilities etc., also owns 4 fully equipped Handloom factories with over 400 looms capable of weaving widths upto 300 cms. The on-line quality management systems in all the processes are documented as per ISO standards. Bulk of the products are exported to over 20 countries around the world. The customer list includes world renowned stores, design groups and brands, importers and wholesalers. The company is capable of weaving width fabrics on automatic Rapier / Sulzer looms ensuring high quality and productivity. These facilities are fully controlled and are part of the group.

The Dhanalakshmi group also runs a Training Institute - to train young boys & girls in the different Textiles / export related skills and also shop floor & production management. Many have benefited from the training and have able to get themselves absorbed in the company's units while some have secured employment in different units in and around this area.
